Yesterday I added a great article to the website about Abram Brant by Peter Russell of the Custer Association of Great Britain. It had appeared in a Little Big Horn Associates newsletter. Many thanks to Peter Russell and Rod Thomas, LBHA newsletter editor, for giving me permission to post it.

Brant was a recipient of the Medal of Honor. He was killed the night before he was to receive the medal. It is believed that he was buried with the medal. The actual location of Brant's grave is unknown. He is believed to be buried in an unmarked grave located in the Fort Meade Post Cemetery. A marker was placed for him in that cemetery on October 17, 2008. I have not had the opportunity to see the marker yet. When I do, I will post a photo on the website. BTW, Brant is a distant relative of horror novelist John Saul.

I have more articles to add including a couple about Charles Windolph.

Montana Mayhem II is coming up fast. The guys are flying into Billings from all points around the country on June 17th and 18th. On the 19th they are driving to Bismarck. I will be meeting up with them on the evening of the 19th in Bismarck. We will explore Forts Lincoln and Rice before we all head back to Billings. There are conferences for the LBHA and the CBHMA during that battle anniversary week. We will be walking the site of the timber and Reno's valley fight.

Then it's time for the Wyoming portion of the tour. The Mint Bar in Sheridan is a definite stop. Buffalo ribeye steaks at the Occidental Hotel in Buffalo, Wyoming.

I can hardly wait.

Take care.
